Use Keywords as the Anchor Texts

Anchor text helps tells spiders what page is about.

When you have linked internally in your web pages, just use keywords as the anchor texts.

Links that say click here do nothing for your search engine visibility.

is better than

Visit travel directory to see more travel information. Click here.

Use Relevant Keywords

If a website is about Indian Gifts, then go after specific keywords.  For example “gourmet Indian gifts” and “Indian gifts shops” would be good choices because they are very specific.

The more specific a keyword is, the less competition will have in search engine rankings.

This helps sites have an easier time ranking, and a better position in the search engines.

Keyword Density Research

Keyword density is important because search engines use this information to categorize a site’s theme, and to determine which terms the site is relevant to.

The perfect keyword density will help achieve higher search engine positions.

Keyword density needs to be balanced correctly — too low and you will not get the optimum benefit, too high and your page might get flagged for keyword spamming.
